About Me

I'm Lenora Hester.  I am currently a Kindergarten and 1st grade teacher, and I love it!  I've been teaching elementary school for about 20 years in San Francisco and Claremont.  During my career I have taught K-8th grades.  My hobby is currently the EMM Program!  When I can,  I enjoy doing things like hiking and swimming with my family.  I also love to eat, cook and travel!

I'm fairly proficient with technology.  Having only 3 classes to finish, I am near the end of the EMM program.  Woohoo!  I also teach a summer enrichment class using iMovie to make stop motion animation movies to 4-8th grades.

My goal in the program is to graduate this Spring.  I intend to use my new skills to enhance production of student projects, as well as enhance instruction in my classroom.  I also intend to mentor and support other teachers to use technology in their classrooms.

  1. Hi Lenora! Nice to see you in the same class again. I think that it is really awesome that you teach 4-8th graders how to use iMovie. I hope to also teach others the cool things that I have been learning in the EMM program. See you next week!

  2. I like that you are paying it forward. You are teaching your students things that you are learning throughout the program. Technology is such an integral part of learning, It's not enough to just lecture and write on a whiteboard anymore, kids need to be engaged and technology seems to be the way to do that. It's great to hear how you are implementing skills from the program into your teaching. Awesome!

    1. Yes! For a while, before I could project with iPad mirroring or a doc camera, I felt like I literally had to do a dance to hold their attention! It's basically what I would write on a whiteboard, but way more engaging for this generation!

  3. Hi Lenora! You do great projects with your kids! I love the iMovie clip you did of your students from spring quarter. If you have any new ideas I would love to hear them and implement them in my classroom. See you next week!
